Map Security have been in the motor trade for many years providing top quality, professional services. One of our main services is mobile vehicle air conditioning.
Your cars air conditioning system should be serviced on an annual basis as your system loses around 20% of gas a year. There are many reasons for this and one of them is through lack of use. This loss could have very negative repercussions if left unaddressed. By not having the right amount of gas in the system the compressor will have to work much harder than it needs too, leading to increased fuel costs. A regular top-up to the refrigerant system is entirely necessary as this will reduce general wear and tear on system parts and also assist in avoiding potentially much larger repair bills. A vehicle needs a specific amount of refrigerant in the air conditioning system in order to operate efficiently. Rather than topping up existent levels of coolant, the correct procedure is to remove all the residual levels of this entirely from the system using a deep vacuum to evacuate this altogether.
As a general guide, you should consider a recharge of the air conditioning system when your vehicle reaches approximately 3 years of age, with further recharges at 18 month intervals thereafter. This makes more sense in the long run to keep a healthy system. Some modern vehicles create Fault Codes when the refrigerant charge is allowed to get too low. This has the effect of preventing the operation of the Air Conditioning system even where it has been completely recharged. For the use of our Electronic Diagnostics Equipment to correct these, we charge in addition to the recharge cost.
Our service vans are well equipped with spare fittings and specialised tools and we are often able to repair damaged hoses and pipe work.
